Education at the Julian Youth Academy

The official name used on the students’ transcripts is Julian Christian High School (JCHS) and is also "doing business as" (DBA) Julian Youth Academy. JCHS is a fully accredited Christian school for grades
6 through 12 that annually files a private school affidavit with the California Department of Education.
The curriculum used is published by Alpha Omega Publications. Each student is evaluated upon arrival to assess where he should be placed within the curriculum. A computer station is assigned to each student where he works on his individualized school program. The computers are used only for school work and do not have internet access. The staff is available to provide the students with individual tutoring and to help them with their work.

Even if a student is behind in his education, he can be enrolled at JCHS due to the fact that JCHS has an open admissions policy. JCHS also has a rolling admission policy, which allows the students to begin at any point during the year. Also, with the year-round system that the school uses, no matter when the child starts or what time of year he is in the program, the student always has the opportunity to progress in his education. If a student completes his high school education while he is at Julian Youth Academy, he can still remain in the program by continuing college level correspondence courses.
